Welcome to Esqueda Farms, a Sun Valley, CA based urban farm, founded in 2020! My name is Aaron Esqueda and I’ve worked in different industries, but now I started an urban farm here specializing in year-round microgreen production. A few encounters have caused me to pursue this career. As a teacher in struggling urban areas, it broke my heart to see so many kids not have the access to fresh produce, as the operation’s analyst for Vallarta I saw so much produce be imported and have subpar quality. I studied Agribusiness and horticulture in my university, and this has allowed me to optimize the growth of microgreens and sell them at the most affordable price to people in California. My main aspiration is to help people gain access to the nutrient-dense and specialty microgreen varieties no matter whether you’re rich or poor. I use an organic soil mix from my trusted vendor to grow my microgreens. I grow individual microgreens and herbs, such as arugula, bull’s blood beet and basil. We also offer several microgreen mixes such as our rainbow mix, taco mix, and garden mix. My produce is grown in flats without the use of any animal products in order to remove any possible methods of contamination. All my produce is cut to order the same day it is cut and we won’t use chemicals.
